Meet the Friends of Mokena
Mayor: George J.Metanias
Determined, dedicated, and committed—that's George Metanias. George and his wife Denise have lived in Mokena for 30 years and raised their two children there. George was a past President of Mokena Burros and volunteered as a Varsity Coach for 20 years.
George was elected Trustee in 2005, owned and operated a successful contracting business, and learned the value of doing more with less.
Clerk: Melissa Martini
Melissa Martini has lived in Mokena for 35 years and has served as a Village Clerk since 2018. She and her husband Curt raised six children here and started a successful business, Precision Trade Show Services, Inc.
Melissa has been a tireless community advocate - organizing programs for Mokena Girl Scouts and was a past board member of Mokena Burros - our community's athletic and youth sports program.
Trustee: Daniel Gilbert
Dan and his wife, Sheri, have lived in Mokena for 33 years. A public school teacher, Dan is deeply committed to giving back to our community and has served on Mokena's Park Board - helping
expand new outdoor opportunities for families.
Dan believes that government works best when driven by what people care about. Those concerns and public engagement will be his top priorities.
Trustee: Melissa Fedora
As Executive Director of the Mokena Chamber of Commerce, Melissa understands the critical effect a strong business base has on a community's future. She's dedicated to making Mokena "business-friendly" and views every day as an opportunity to build a bright future for our village.
Trustee: Colleen Patrick-Lenart
A life-long resident, Colleen has a deep appreciation for the history and future of our village. She earned a B.A. Degree from St Mary's College/Notre Dame and, after graduating, came back to manage
her family's Mokena-based business.
An executive in the flooring industry for 30 years, Colleen has organized numerous charitable events, volunteered at VITAS Hospice, served on the Mokena Community Affairs Commission, and served as an election judge.
Trustee: Josh Bailey
Josh Balley is the type of person we need in village government. With twenty years in Finance, an MBA from Purdue, a CPA, and a member of Mokena's Economic Development Commission, Josh brings the expertise and business acumen needed to attract more investment to our community.
Josh, his wife Denise, and two children have lived in Mokena for 20 years. Josh is a parishioner of Parkview Christian Church and is active in coaching youth sports.
